What our preschool program covers

Our preschool room takes children from three years old through to the year before they start school. The program follows the Early Years Learning Framework, and in practice that means each week is planned around what the children are actually interested in rather than a fixed curriculum handed down from above. Letter recognition and counting matter, but they are the easiest part. The self-regulation is what makes the difference in a child’s first term.

In the year before school we add structured small-group work, more writing and name-recognition practice, and gradual changes to routine so that a school-style day feels familiar rather than alarming.
