0 – 18 Months

LADY BUGS ROOM

Our goal is to provide a warm and nurturing environment that is both home-like and stimulating. We focus on:

• Building strong relationships with children
• Engaging children during play, routines and transitions
• Building self-help skills
• Sensory Exploration
• Self-expression

Our educators provide individualised care to children and create a warm, caring and nurturing environment to help with the development of your child’s emotional security. We meet children’s physical and emotional needs through daily care routines, one-to-one interactions with each child as well as small group play times.  In the babies room routines and transitions such as meal times, nappy change and sleep provide opportunities for educators to engage in meaningful interactions and develop close relationships with each of the children. Our educators work closely with families to ensure that each child’s interests, needs and development is supported. Home routines are maintained and communicated regularly with families.

2 – 3 Years

BUMBLE BEES

Our goal is to provide a secure environment where the child is valued, respected and encouraged to develop their interests and skills. We focus on:

• Building warm and respectful relationships between children and educators and between peers.
• Self-help skills such as toileting, recognising and looking after personal belongings
• Developing confidence and communication skills

Educators in the toddlers’ room use routines, transitions and play times to respond to the children’s interests and needs and create meaningful interactions. This helps create opportunities for educators to learn children’s communication strategies. Educators also work in partnership with families to learn about children’s interests and development and to support each child’s communication.

A range of experiences in the toddlers room support these outcomes including art and craft, playdough and sensory play, construction, music and movement, sand and water play, sharing books, puzzles and games. Educators support children’s understandings during these experiences, particularly focusing on the process and expression involved in each experience. As children develop, the program becomes more challenging and varied to cater for the emerging needs and interests of each child and the group as a whole.

4 – 5 Years

DRAGONFLIES ROOM

Our goal is provide a warm and engaging environment, with educators interacting with children to extend and challenge their skills and thinking. We also encourage children’s learning in relation to safe & healthy living, cultural awareness, and community connections. We focus on:

• Building warm and respectful relationships
• Developing language, communication and early numeracy skills
• Shared learning and cooperative experiences

TRANSITION TO SCHOOL

To help children prepare for the transition to school our preschool program also provides opportunities for children to familiarise themselves with skills needed when they begin formal schooling. Our program encourages children to be involved in group projects and interest based learning. These experiences support communication and social skills and provide opportunities for contextualized learning which incorporates literacy and numeracy skills. Scientific discoveries, art and craft, dramatic play, construction, music and movement also provide children with opportunities for children to be creative, make connections and express themselves. Our Preschool Program is delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
